Social, Economic and Racial Justice (SERJ)
The Social, Economic and Racial Justice (SERJ, pronounced ‘surge’) Network brings together UIC units engaged in social and racial justice research and community engagement to build our collaborative potential and deepen our collective work. The SERJ units make distinct contributions to the public mission of UIC: the Social Justice Initiative, Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy , Racial Justice, Violence and the Law Project in the UIC Criminology, Law, and Justice Department, Great Cities Institute, Community Enterprise & Solidarity Economy Clinic in the UIC School of Law. SERJ builds upon a network of over 200 UIC faculty and research affiliates that identify as social justice scholars.
