Jodi Melamed is associate professor of English and Africana Studies at Marquette University. She is the author of Represent and Destroy: Rationalizing Violence in the New Racial Capitalism and has published many articles and chapters in a wide array of journals, editions, and insurgent media. She is a co-editor (with Jodi Byrd, Alyosha Goldstein, and Chandan Reddy) of a special volume of Social Text, “Economies of Dispossession: Indigeneity, Race, Capitalism” (Spring 2018). She is currently at work on a new book project titled Operationalizing Racial Capitalism: Administrative Power and Violence Work.
