Nia K. Evans is Executive Director of the Boston Ujima Project which organizes local residents, workers, small business owners, and community investor and they have created the first democratically-run investment fund in the country. They are a successful experiment in building a more democratically controlled local economy directly run by Boston’s most disenfranchised residents.
